Lost Cat
All cats have a very good sense of direction so, if you have a lost cat, chances are good that your pet will come back home. (Dogs sense of direction is not as great!) Your missing cat probably isn't really lost so don't worry. You may not know when your pet is, but, your pet knows exactly where he or she is at! And a cat doesn't care whether or not you know! According to your cat, that is YOUR problem! The best time to go looking for your cat would be at night. They don't come out that much during the daytime but, come out to play and explore during the night.
Allow a few days to pass before your pet will come back home. Cats will stay out long but normally they come back. Sometimes your pet will even stay out as long as a week.
There are many stories of missing beloved felines who make their way back home. Click here to read
my lost cat story
of when Pixie went missing the day I started this website. (The irony, I know!) You should tell your neighbors to keep an eye out for your pet. If they tell you where they saw your cat then you should look around that area. If your pet doesn't return in more than a week later then it might be time to put out fliers. But, most likely that won't happen. Chances are good with cats that they will return. Sometimes cats might even come back in the middle of the night scratching your front door! You never know when they will come back so be expecting them. For extra help, make sure you leave something outside your front door, like some used kitty litter so they can follow the scent to their front door.
